Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, beating until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra peanut butter flavor, use crunchy peanut butter. You can also add chopped nuts or pretzels to the dough for added texture. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
