  • 2 lbs Russet Potatoes peeled and quartered
  • 1/2 cup Milk whole milk recommended
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 6 cloves Garlic minced (or more, to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper or to taste
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream or Crème Fraîche (optional) for extra creaminess
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley (optional) chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are easily pierced with a fork.
  3. Drain the potatoes well.
  4. Return potatoes to the pot. Add butter, milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  5. Mash with a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth and creamy. (Optional: Stir in sour cream/crème fraîche).
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more milk if a thinner consistency is desired.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional) and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, roast the garlic cloves before mincing. You can also add other herbs like chives or thyme.
