- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl. Mix until evenly moistened.
- Press the crumb mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate. Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Let the crust cool completely.
- In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crust. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
- Before serving, top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet. You can also add a pinch of espresso powder to the filling for an extra depth of flavor. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
