- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the drained green beans, softened cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup, milk, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and the cream cheese is fully incorporated.
- Pour the green bean mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Evenly top with 1 1/2 cups of French fried onions.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly, and the topping is golden brown.
- Let the casserole stand for a few minutes before serving to allow it to slightly cool and set.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use homemade cream of mushroom soup. You can also add a pinch of nutmeg or thyme for extra warmth. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
