Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Pork Sausage (breakfast links or patties, removed from casings) Cooked sausage is recommended for ease, but uncooked can be used; see instructions.
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Or your favorite cheese blend
  • 1 cup Bisquick Baking Mix
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Cookie Scoop (optional)
  • Skillet (if using uncooked sausage)

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If using uncooked sausage, brown it in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage (or browned uncooked sausage), softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  4. Add the Bisquick baking mix and milk. Gently mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls using a cookie scoop or your hands.
  6. Place the sausage balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
  8. Let the sausage balls cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For spicier sausage balls, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños. These are best served warm, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
