  • 12 ounces Fresh Cranberries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 4 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup Jalapeno Peppers finely chopped, seeds removed for less heat
  • 0.25 cup Red Onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth and creamy using a whisk or electric mixer.
  5. Stir in the cooled cranberry sauce, jalapeno peppers, red onion, and lime juice.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Serve chilled with crackers, tortilla chips, or your favorite vegetables.

Notes

For a milder flavor, remove more of the jalapeno seeds. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra heat. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
