  1. In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, celery seed, salt, and pepper.
  2. Gently stir in the diced apples and pecans or walnuts (if using).
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a lid.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. For best results, let it sit for 2-4 hours or even overnight.
  5. Before serving, gently toss the coleslaw again to redistribute the ingredients.
  6. Serve chilled as a side dish with your favorite fall meal.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. You can also substitute dried cranberries for the canned cranberry sauce if desired. Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference depending on the sweetness of your apples and cranberry sauce.
